Hand carving this spoon allowed the natural flow of the grain to be followed to give it an asymetrical form. After the spoon had been hand-carved it was boiled for an hour and a half to draw out the tannins naturally present in oak. This has created a spoon with a warm colour that also displays a flash of medullary ray across the handle.
